In a recent development, Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has introduced a new temporary work visa for graduates. The visa, called the Post-Study Work Visa, will allow international graduates who have studied in New Zealand for at least one year to stay in the country and work for up to three years.
The Post-Study Work Visa is designed to help international graduates to gain work experience in New Zealand. It is also designed to encourage international graduates to stay in New Zealand and contribute to the country’s economy.
To be eligible for a Post-Study Work Visa, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- They must have graduated from a New Zealand university or institute of higher education with a qualification at level 7 or above on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF).
- They must have held a valid student visa for at least one year in the 12 months before applying for the Post-Study Work Visa.
- They must meet the health and character requirements for New Zealand immigration.
Applicants for a Post-Study Work Visa must apply online. The visa application fee is NZ$300.
